Riverside Cottage is recently built self-service accommodation with two accommodation options:
UNIT 1 is self-contained with one double bedroom and equipped kitchenette,an ensuite bathroom and a separate living room.
UNIT 2 has two double bedrooms (one is a queen double bed and the other has two king single beds),and a large bathroom. There are tea/coffee making
facilities with small frig and table/chairs. There are no cooking facilities in this Unit.
Both Units open onto a sunny terrace, with outdoor furniture, facing the lake and surrounding mountains.
Regrettably these Units are not suitable for children under 6 years.

ALBERTINE COTTAGE

Riverside and Albertine Cottages are nestled on the elevated bank of the Tekapo River with spectacular views of Lake Tekapo and Mt John.The forest and river partially surrounding Riverside Cottage,gives a quiet,secluded atmosphere and yet the Cottages are only a few minutes easy walking distance along a scenic track to the Lake and Tekapo village for shopping and dining.
Set to capture the sun throughout the day, you may relax in this peaceful environment or participate in the many activities around Lake Tekapo.
A variety of scenic walks are readily accessible from the Cottages. For the more enthusiastic there is tramping, climbing, fishing, hunting, flights over the mountains and glaciers, salmon farm tours on the hydro canal, kayaking, water skiing, horse trekking, golf, tennis, cycling, miniature golf, lake cruises and 4WD safaris.There are both day and night tours of the renowned astronomy centre on top of Mt John where you may also enjoy a cup of coffee and take in the 360 degree view of the Mackenzie Basin,lakes Tekapo and Alexandrina and surrounding mountain ranges.
During winter there are three skifields in the area,including the nearby popular Roundhill family skifield, nordic and alpine ski touring and snow landings for skiing the Tasman Glacier.
A new Alpine Springs and Winter Park complex has hot pools,sauna,ice skating and curling with expansion plans for a snow park with tobogganing and snow tubing.
The spectacular Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park is only a one hour drive away from your base at Riverside or Albertine Cottages and makes an excellent day excursion for beautiful walks, glacial lake trips and the Sir Edmond Hillary alpine museum.
Driving times to other centres from Lake Tekapo are, to Wanaka two hours, to Queenstown three hours and to Christchurch three hours.
